One of the areas where young Interior Designers generally have a weakness is the lack of site experience and seeing the reality of their designs evolving. We all visualize our designs, but we can only design effectively once we understand how our ideas will be constructed. When Eva, our placement student from Nottingham Trent University joined R+R, we decided to involve her in every aspect of our Interior Design projects.
For the past few months, Eva has been working as part of the HealthHub team on the flagship clinic at the Dubai Festival City Mall. She's been attending weekly site visits, client meetings and liaising with the suppliers and contractors. In the long run, this will be as equally important to a future employer as her Interior Design skills and a big advantage to her CV.
